Guidelines for Peer Reviews

Each student who has completed his or her research proposal must perform peer reviews of other students' work. Each student should review two (2) final reports or theses.

The reviews will include:

The purpose of instituting the peer review process is two-fold. First, it helps the student whose work is being reviewed to target his or her work to a broader critical audience and provides the student with substantive feedback about his or her work. Second, it provides reviewers with an evaluative perspective on the research process, rather than just a productive (making a presentation or writing a paper) perspective.

Drafts of the final reports or theses to be reviewed should be made available by the authors on their project web site four weeks before the scheduled final presentations or defenses. The reviews must be completed and submitted one week before the scheduled final presentations or defenses.
