Programming Assignments

General requirements and guidelines for programming assignments and the final project.

You should create a web app context for your programming assignments. The name of the context should be your user ID on students.depaul.edu For example: xjia. This is to ensure that each student has a unique context name.
You should map the context to a subdirectory under <tomcat home>/webapps. All of your source code, including java, JSP, and HTML files should be under this directory or it subdirectories.
The same context and directory should be used for all programming assignments and the final project.
You must provide adequate documentation and comments in your code in the JavaDoc format, and then use the javadoc utility to generate HTML documentation. You must properly format your code to make it easily readable by follwoing the Code Conventions for the Java Programming Language from Sun Microsystems.
Grading breakdown:

60% for functionality
20% for adequate comments and documentation
10% for proper formating, indentation, choosing proper names and following naming convenions
10% for proper submision.

Late penalties:

10%.
No programming assignment or project will be accepted after the due date of the final project (2007/07/22).

Make sure you understand DePaul University's policy on plagiarism. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Penalties range from failing an assignment to failing the course. Repeat offenses could lead to expulsion from the university.
